Awards and Scholarships

Each year in December we host an annual Awards and Scholarship Ceremony. We have a wide range of Awards and Scholarships recognizing students for academic achievements, positive behavior, athletic awards and awards for students citizenship and character.

We would like to say thank you to the many individuals, families and businesses who contribute annually to our awards and scholarships program.

Award and Scholarship Descriptions

The specific criteria for each award and scholarship can be obtained in the following document.

2019-20 Recipients / Donors

Good day everyone. We hope you are all well during these more challenging COVID-19 times.

We would like to hereby reiterate that due to COVID-19 guidelines at this time, we are unable to hold our Annual Awards Ceremony at Dorset Collegiate as was originally scheduled on Friday, December 18th at 10:30 AM, to acknowledge and congratulate students for their special accomplishments during the 2019-20 school year.

We at Dorset Collegiate are very proud of your achievements; I am sure your parents and guardians are too. We would still like to recognize and congratulate our students on each and every one of their tremendous successes. We are therefore hereby preparing an awards and scholarships package for each winner of any scholarships, awards, certificates, as well as well-deserved Graduate diplomas, by presenting them to students either individually at the school or by mail delivery if they are not currently attending our school. A list of all awards and scholarship winners may also be posted on our school web site.

Thank you teachers, support staff, student assistants, clergy, home communities, school councilors, Mayors and NL English School District Personnel. Thank you parents and guardians for supporting your children and your school, and a sincere thank you to our 49 awards and scholarship sponsors. Your contributions to scholarships and awards are a strong message for students and the whole community about the value that you place on education.

If you were a Grade 12 student at Dorset Collegiate last year and won any University or College entrance scholarship, can you please let us know so that you we may engrave this on our school plaque.

Once again, congratulations, and we wish each of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Sincerely yours,
